Trending searches
Trending searches give shoppers a place to start before they type. They appear in the suggestions panel when the search box is empty.
Manage them on Merchandising › Search › Trending. Turn them on or off with Show trending searches.
How the list is built
Trending is built from the last 7 days of storefront searches and their clicks, refreshed hourly. A search only trends if enough shoppers ran it and clicked a result, so dead-end searches stay out.
Modes
| Mode | Minimum searches | Minimum click rate |
|---|---|---|
| Strict | 10 | 30% |
| Balanced (default) | 3 | 20% |
| Inclusive | 1 | 5% |
Strict suits busy stores; Inclusive helps a newer store show something sooner.
Never show and fallbacks
- Never show: searches that should never appear as trending, however popular.
- Fallback searches: shown when not enough searches qualify, such as in a quiet week.
