Campaigns
A campaign changes collections for a set time, then puts everything back. Use one for a sale, a launch or a weekend drop. Set them up on Merchandising › Campaigns.
What a campaign can change
- Ranking
- What leads, from the same presets as the Ranking page, or your own weights.
- Layout
- Ranked order, or a diversity layout.
- Pins and boosts
- Products held at a position, or lifted among the best, while the campaign is live. They come before the collection's own pins and boosts.
A campaign covers one collection or every collection. Pins and boosts need one collection. A campaign for every collection changes the store's ranking and layout, so collections with their own ranking or layout keep theirs.
Starting and ending
- Times are in your shop's time zone. A campaign can start right away. Leave the end empty to keep it until you stop it.
- Pins, boosts and layout switch at the start and end time on their own, within about a minute.
- A new ranking needs collections to re-rank. That also starts on its own at the start and end time, and takes a minute or two.
- If two campaigns overlap, the one that started last wins.
- You can change a campaign until it ends, or stop it early. Collections go back to their own settings.
Scheduling rules
Hide and bury rules and query rules have their own schedule. Open Schedule on a rule and set when it applies. For example, you could hide samples during a sale, or send a "gifts" search to your gift guide in December.
From the API
The list_campaigns, schedule_campaign, update_campaign and
cancel_campaign tools do the same thing, with times in ISO 8601. Rules take startsAt and
endsAt.
