Getting startedHow syncing works

How syncing works

When changes reach your storefront, and what happens if Relvello is unreachable.

Catalog changes

When you create, edit or delete a product or collection in Shopify, Shopify tells Relvello straight away. Relvello syncs the change within minutes and serves it from every location.

  • Changes that arrive close together are synced together, a minute or two after the first.
  • Syncs run at most every 10 minutes per store, so a bulk edit in Shopify becomes one sync, not hundreds.
  • A full resync runs every 6 hours, and after any sync that failed, to catch anything that was missed.

The Overview's checklist shows Live catalog updates when this is working. If it isn't, changes wait for the next full sync.

Your Relvello settings

Pins, boosts, rules, filters, synonyms and the rest go live when you click Save. There's no sync to wait for. If a save can't be published, the page says so, and saving again retries.

Sales data

Ranking uses units sold in the last 30 days for each product and variant. Collections are re-ranked with fresh sales totals at most every 3 hours.

Inventory planning keeps its own feeds of catalog, stock and sales. See Inventory data.

If Relvello can't be reached

Nothing breaks. Each Relvello block first shows Shopify's own results and pagination, then swaps in Relvello's results once they arrive. If they don't arrive, shoppers simply keep Shopify's results. Search suggestions work the same way: the theme's search keeps working.

Because Shopify renders the page first, search engines see the same collection pages they always have.
